At Impact Labelling, we have always prioritised sustainable practices in our operations. In our latest report, we’re pleased to share significant progress in reducing waste output in 2023.
Data Overview
Starting the year with 5.28 tons of waste in January, (indicated by red on the graph below) we have progressively decreased this number, ending the year with just 3.13 tons in December. This 41% reduction is a result of strategic operational adjustments and reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability, and is even more remarkeable considering that we increased our manufacturing output over the same time period (indicated by blue in the graph below).
Focused Efforts
The downward trend in waste can be attributed to a series of targeted actions, including:
- Optimising our production processes to minimise waste
- Reduction in one use packaging such as boxes, and delivering in totes
- Introducing more sustainable materials into our label production that generate less waste
- Upgrading machinery for higher efficiency and less waste generation
- Implementing Sustainability Targets
This significant reduction in waste plays a crucial role in our broader environmental goals. By lessening the waste we produce, we’re not only cutting down on landfill contributions but also conserving resources and reducing our overall environmental impact.
Next Steps
While we’re proud of our achievements, we recognise there’s more to be done. We’re dedicated to continuous improvement in our waste management and reduction practices. Our future plans include investing in new technologies and further refining our processes to achieve even greater efficiency.
In Conclusion
We’re eager to play our part in initiatives that contribute to a healthier planet. We’re proud to make every aspect of label printing at Impact Labelling part of the solution to a more sustainable future.
